Welcome to Letterpress Forward

For 30 years, Briar Press has been a place to ask questions, share knowledge, find a press, pass along a piece of type, and connect with people who love printing as much as you do.

What began as a small online resource has grown into something much bigger: a community-built record of the people, tools, stories, and knowledge that make letterpress what it is today.

Now, as Briar Press enters its next chapter, we’re excited to introduce Letterpress Forward—a foundation created to help care for what has been built and support what comes next.

Our work is about keeping things in circulation: knowledge, equipment, ideas, opportunities, and the connections between people. We’ll be working to preserve the resources of Briar Press, support artists and printers, and create new ways for the letterpress community to learn, share, and connect.

Thirty years is a milestone worth celebrating. But for us, it’s also a beginning.

Welcome to Letterpress Forward.
We’re glad you’re here.
