How we support artists with micro-granting

Letterpress Forward Foundation cares for the shared knowledge that sustains letterpress printing and supports the people who practice, teach, and carry this craft forward. Founded in 2025, the Foundation serves as steward of Briar Press, the online discussion forum and knowledge space now in its thirtieth year of service to the field.

Briar Press has long been a place where printers help one another by sharing historical information and practical experience. Over three decades, it has grown into an irreplaceable community-generated archive. The Foundation ensures this knowledge remains stable, accessible, and grounded in community as digital spaces evolve. Preserve and strengthen shared knowledge We safeguard Briar Press and are working to modernize this resource so that decades of discussion, documentation, and hands-on expertise remain accessible.
